Gerhart has an immediate opening for a Materials Specialist based in our Tatamy, PA location. 

The Material Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Systems Production and Material processes including: Shipping, Receiving, and Material Management. 

Main Responsibilities

• Shipping outgoing Gerhart Systems finished products 
  • Ensure products being shipped meet quantities and type as called out on orders. 
  • Prepping equipment for shipment. Building custom pallets, packaging, crating, etc. 
  • Scheduling shipments with logistics partners 
• Receiving Incoming Material, processing paperwork, and assist in unloading/delivery of packages, and incoming inspection 
• Track and update status of incoming and outgoing shipments 
• Material non-conforming and return process 
• Material Management including: 
  • Stocked material levels and purchasing thereof 
  • Project based material receiving, organization, and
  • Part Inventory location and organization 
  • Stock Pull and Cycle Count 
  • Communicating sourcing requirements to project manager 
• Purchasing of project/job based material requirements based on requests from project management 
• Oversee production build information including: Production label generation, Packing Lists, Picture Documentation 
• Operate company vehicles to assist with pick-up and deliveries as needed 
• Maintains a clean, neat, and organized shipping and receiving area

Qualifications:

• Be able to safely lift up to 75lbs
• Physically active with ability to bend, stretch, reach for items, move boxes throughout the facility
• Ability to obtain forklift qualification
• Use of various tools ranging from common hand and power tools, saws, drills and wrenches
• Good communications skills both written and verbal
• Strong sense of time organization with urgency
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks as needed 
• Self-starter and motivated to work independently
• Well qualified applicants to have 2 years experience in a similar profession 
• Has basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and order entry systems.
